Here’s what some women are saying about Creighton Model FertilityCare services (CrMS) and NaPro Technology being provided by the FertilityCare Professionals located in the Greater Philadelphia region.

♥Through Napro, I have learned to become an informed decision maker in my own reproductive health. Today, Naprotechnology helps me monitor PMS as I work alongside my doctor.

♥I am very impressed with this system and I think that it is very learnable and useful for every woman. I will recommend this system to all women of all ages in child bearing years.

♥Access to these services and the support of these two (FertilityCare Professionals) has helped me to get through some difficult challenges, while still allowing me to treat my fertility as a gift. All women deserve this treatment, which is why it so important to have an easily accessible, affordable, hospital-based center in the area.

♥We also appreciate having a valuable and cost-effective alternative to the main-stream push of the pill. Working with the natural functioning of our bodies- not against it- helps our overall sense of well-being and health.

♥I regret that I did not know or care to know about Naprotechnology in my younger years, but am thankful for all I’ve learned so far.

♥There is tremendous ignorance about women's fertility among those in the health care field not to mention the average person. Women need to know there are alternatives to dangerous fertility drugs and to immoral in vitro fertilization.

♥My husband and I were not sure what to expect when we began using the Creighton Model. Needless to say, we are very pleased with the success we have achieved by using this non-invasive method of fertility. It has allowed us to grow as a family spiritually and literally.

♥I was nursing my third child, and wanted an easier form of NFP than the thermo-sympto model we had used previously to space our children. It was very easy to learn, and to use.

♥My children are grown and I am nearing menopause. The information and charting methods used in the classes is helping me approach this change in life with confidence.
I've become so much more aware of the subtle changes in my body--much
more than I've learned anywhere or from any of my gyn doctors over the
years.

♥We could hardly believe it. I was going to give birth at the age of 47! Our son, Matthew James, was born on February 9, 2006. That morning we held a “Gift of God” (the Hebrew meaning of Matthew) in our arms.

♥There is such a need and so many desperate women and husbands that need help. Not to mention the sick children who were premature babies! I am currently still under the care of Dr. Jean. She is helping me with pms. With her help and the HCG shots, my family is forever grateful!

♥We as husband and wife know that it’s all in God’s timing but of course we can help if we learned about the natural cycles and when the best time we were fertile and not fertile. If I would’ve known more about my cycle/body and found out about having low progesterone sooner maybe I wouldn’t have had to wait all this time for an answer.

♥ You have been incredibly wonderful and helpful, and the service that you provide to couples like me and (my husband) is invaluable. You've helped us not only to understand our fertility but to come to terms with it, and that has given us a sense of peace that we did not know before.

♥ Praise God for Napro or else I don't think this little guy would be here today. It is amazing how miracles can unfold when a woman just knows her own body!

♥ I've already recommended (the CrMS) to my friends and relatives because I believed in it from the beginning, as soon as I started. It's easy... more logical than other natural methods, and is backed up by tons of research…YES!  As soon as she is old enough, I do plan on sharing it with (my daughter) along with my personal journey pre and post CrMS.

♥ After coming off of birth control (pill) that I went on as a teenager (b/c the doctor told me it will help my heavy periods be lighter and less cramps), I thought it would be easy to get pregnant. My cycles were consistent every month prior to going on the pill and my OB, along with the rest of society, told me that I'd be able to get pregnant once stopping the pill. Wrong. When I didn't get a period for 3 months my OB tried to start one by giving me drugs to cause withdraw bleeding. After 10 days of the medicine, nothing....nothing for another 3 months when we tried it again.  Now that it was 6 months from stopping the pill, my doctor was ready to send me to a fertility specialist. I was not ready to go to a specialist-my feeling was "drugs got me into this mess, why would I turn to them to get me out. Yes I do want to get pregnant but I think we should get to the root of the problem-why am I not having my periods."

We saw an announcement in our church bulletin for an information session regarding CrMS...  We did learn a little about NFP during Pre Cana but really didn't know much about CrMS. After attending the information session, my husband and I felt it was for us and started right away. After working with Theresa and Dr. Jean Golden-Tevald, I learned through my charting that in addition to my PCOS, I ovulate later than the traditional cycle and have low luteal phase progesterone levels which would definitely affect my ability to sustain a pregnancy. My current OB would NEVER had gone through all that these women did for me to figure it out (time, patience, blood tests, etc.).

I will also add that during my last month of pregnancy, my current OB asked me why I was even on progesterone shots (prescribed by Dr. Jean and I was on them from 4 weeks to 34 weeks) in the first place when I "...didn't have a history of miscarriages.". I was beyond shocked when she said this - does that mean my doctor would have let me endure the pain of a miscarriage, maybe even twice, before investigating why? I truly believe that without CrMS I would not be a mother today.

So, to sum it up, I'm most frustrated how conventional medicine is quick to jump at achieving the end result (pregnancy) with many expensive drugs and in many instances, does a half hearted attempt at finding out the root of the problem.

♥ I tell everyone I know about this method especially my younger friends who are just getting married. It's so much better for your body than taking the birth control pill and there is something spiritual connected to the method. I saw a reproductive endocrinologist who ran several blood and dye tests and performed a laparoscopy on me. She reported her findings and told me I had small ovaries for my age, diseased fallopian tubes, and my only option was IVF using donor eggs! I was only 32 years old!! I am so glad I did NOT take her advice and instead found this method since …all I did was chart and had some shots of Progesterone once the pregnancy was confirmed. Science cannot explain everything and sometimes you have to go on faith. I am so glad I did.

♥When I stopped taking birth control pills and began using the Creighton Model FertilityCare system and NaPro Technology, I considered myself a healthy woman. Soon, however, I discovered through my observations and charting that I was not getting a menstrual period. The birth control pills had been giving me a “fake” period, leading me to believe that all was well. In a kind, compassionate way, my instructor suggested that I had let my body become too thin and subsequently my period stopped and I became temporarily infertile. I began eating a better diet and exercising in a more moderate fashion. Slowly I noticed my body get back to normal. Six months later my menstrual cycle began again. Three months after that I became pregnant with my son. Without Creighton I would not have known that there was something wrong with my fertility. Many women are unaware of the status of their fertility, however I was able to “watch” my cycle on a day-to-day basis. This provided emotional support as I watched my body “reawaken.” I am now successfully using Creighton to postpone my second pregnancy until our family is ready.

♥ Once I was married, my husband and I had no trouble getting pregnant. However, I did often have a problem with holding onto a pregnancy. Throughout the first 5 years of our marriage, I miscarried three times. Once I was pregnant, I also experienced similar emotional symptoms as my PMS. I was often teary and tense, not at all like my normal self. Then, when I was able to carry a pregnancy to term, the post-partum time period was just awful. It was PMS magnified by ten. I truly thought I was going crazy at times. I continually, with my husband's encouragement, sought out help for my symptoms. I attended counseling and saw different physicians, pursued natural medicine and nutritional supplements. I increased my exercise and changed my diet. I read everything I could on the subject trying to diagnose my particular issues. Although some of the remedies I tried helped some, nothing addressed what was the cause of my problems.
This all changed when I was introduced to Creighton. After the birth of our 4th child, a new friend brought me dinner, and found me in tears. Right away, she suggested that I contact a Creighton doctor nearby who might be able to diagnose and treat my post-partum depression symptoms. After all the remedies I had tried, I was skeptical to say the least, but I figured I had nothing to lose, so I made the appointment. After only a short consultation and health history told through tears and feelings that bordered on despair, it was clear to Dr. Jean that my body was not producing adequate amounts of progesterone, and that was most likely what was behind not only the feelings of depression, but all of my other symptoms as well. She started treatment for me that very day in her office with an injection of natural progesterone…. Needless to say, the progesterone therapy not only made that post-partum a "non-event", but it has since completely done away with my PMS, painful periods, and has even seen us though the pregnancy and birth of our youngest daughter practically free from the previous symptoms.
